This Titan Fuel Tank is designed to allow 2001-2009 Chevrolet and GMC 2500HD / 3500 series crew cab short bed diesel owners to increase their everyday carrying capacity of diesel fuel from 26 gallons to 52 gallons. The GM crew cab short bed trucks have some of the smallest diesel tanks on the market and this really limits the driveable range. After installing a 52 gallon Titan Fuel Tank you will have DOUBLE the range. This means having to make fewer stops for fuel and allows you to take advantage of cheap fuel when you can find it. For many customers this tank can pay for itself in a short period of time. Each Titan Fuel Tank is built using extra heavy duty cross-linked polyethylene material and is actually thicker and STRONGER than the factory tank it is designed to replace. This 52 gallon fuel tank includes everything necessary for installation, including powder coated crossmember bracket and steel strap set, rubber mounting bushing, vent hoses, rollover safety vent valves, seals and all required clamps. A set of very detailed and easy to read instructions are also included to help make installation easy for both novice mechanics and pros alike. Please note, the Titan Fuel Tank LB7 Kit is required on all 2001 to 2003 General Motors Duramax equipped trucks. On certain 2004 models it is required if the eighth character in the VIN is a "1". For customers that are looking to protect their fuel tank during off-road use Titan Fuel Tanks offers a skid plate designed specifically for use with their extended capacity tank. This skid plate is called the Titan Shield and is constructed of the same extra heavy duty crosslinked polyethylene material and helps protect the underside of the tank from rocks and other off-road hazards. This skid plate is $99.00 and ships for free when purchased with a 52 gallon Titan Fuel Tank. This tank is designed for use only on Duramax Diesel equipped 2500HD and 3500 series Crew Cab Short Bed trucks built between 2001 and 2009 only.
